April 2003: Although April remained pretty cold and wet, we were obviously anxious to get outside to welcome the first signs of spring. This month, our commitment to finding interesting and beautiful things extended into the abiotic, with a series of slides from a night in Providence and a detailed study of some of the historic buildings next to the studio in Peace Dale.
On a dark day, we find Ulva in drift at the Pier, piles of Chondrus at Scarborough South, and the peak of Chorda tomentosum....
Photos from Easter Sunday in Marion, MA. Here, Planting Island Cove seems to be almost overwhelmed by Codium in drift....
We made it out for a night. See photos from dusk in Rhode Island's state capital, with trees in bloom and a glimpse of city life....
A weekend walk outside the studio, part 2. Here are some scenes from Peace Dale and High Street in Wakefield....
Our photographs of two great buildings that border our studio at Lily Pads. See some shots of the historic Palisades Mill and Peace Dale Public Library....
Photos from a short trip to Rome Point. On this day we find the skunk cabbage in bloom and a beach full of slipper limpets (Crepidula fornicata) and huge Chondrus....
