  February 3, 2003 . Narragansett RI
A very low tide and a break in the weather reveal an abundance of greens at the Pier. At this time of year, most of the rocks are covered in Enteromorpha sp., with Porphyra sp. relatively abundant as well. Slides 6-8 also show the establishment of mussel spat (Mytilus edulis) on rocks at the edge of the intertidal zone. Click here to see an ultrawide panorama of the algae-covered rocks from this day.
