What a cool place. The Edna Lawrence Nature Lab houses a collection of natural history specimens for use by the students at the Rhode Island School of Design. We made it up for an extended afternoon visit to play, and to give a small workshop on pressing seaweeds. Shown are some of the live and preserved specimens on the first floor of the Nature Lab; students and staff learning about algae; and enthusiastic leader Karen Idoine (curator of the Nature Lab) sorting algae (slide 10) and waiting for Alex to get off the microscope (last slide).
