  December 19, 2002 . Narragansett, RI
Checking in at the URI Bay Campus, we pass the South Ferry Church and head for the small beach. At low tide, we find the zonation that is typical in sheltered waters of the area: mussels and Ulva, followed here by very prominent Grateloupia (our most recent marine invasive). We also see a filamentous green growing over the barnacles on rocks near the high-tide line, a very prominent strip of Ulva, and a string of whelk egg capsules among a pile of drift on the beach. Click here to see an ultrawide view of South Ferry Beach.
